What to Expect at My First Appointment
If you have not received massage therapy from me in the past and are considering booking an appointment, the following information may help you plan your visit.

-
Please take the time to fill out the Intake, Health History and Cancellation/No-show Policy Forms, before you arrive. These forms were sent to you electronically when you booked your appointment. Completing these forms ahead of time will help to ensure that filling out the preliminary paperwork does not cut into your treatment time. I cannot proceed with your assessment and treatment until these forms have been received.
-
Your initial appointment will be 60 minutes in duration. This will allow me sufficient time to review your health history with you, conduct a verbal interview, conduct a physical assessment, discuss the proposed treatment plan and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions. The interview and assessment portion of your appointment can be expected to take a minimum of 15 minutes at the beginning of your appointment and is included in the appointment time.

-
You will want to wear comfortable clothing to your appointment, that provides access to the area(s) of your body for which you are seeking massage. This will help to ensure that the results of the physical assessments that I perform are accurate.

-
Once the interview and assessment have been completed, I will review her treatment plan with you. Your massage will begin once you have provided informed consent for treatment.

-
Near the end of your appointment, I will most likely provide you with some take home stretches and exercises. These will help to increase the strength, flexibility and stability of your muscles and joints, while decreasing pain and dysfunction. Please expect 5 to 15 minutes of your appointment to be dedicated to exercise prescription.
